I have done a backup onto my PC, but I don't know (given mis-matching Apple IDs) if that will have backed everything important up such that I will be able to restore it. Now you know how easy it is to use a different Apple account with FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad. The person on the other side of the FaceTime call will need to accept your request before you can join on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. ![]() From there, click Join from the floating toolbar found at the bottom of the screen. Enter your name in the box and click Continue. I am happy to reset the phone / whatever to *my* Apple ID - but it is critical I don't lose all my contacts / phone numbers / Text messages. Simply type in the login credentials for your other Apple ID and tap on Sign In to start using this account with FaceTime. Open the link in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your Windows PC. ![]() I have my own (different) Apple ID - although that was not the one used to set up my phone. Load up FaceTime on your Apple device, and instead of entering a number or email address as you normally would to initiate contact, choose the Create Link option instead. My daughter set up my phone (on her iTunes) and the "Sign in to facetime" login is coming up with her (old) Apple ID - which is an EMail address that she no longer has access to. ![]() If I press CANCEL it immediately re-appears - less than 1 second interval, so very difficult to do any other operation in that time.Īdditional issue, which may impact trying to solve the problem above: "Sign in to facetime" keeps appearing, and requesting a login.
