I also just drew a layer on top of the preexisting default assets until I got a hang of how to format the sprites. ![]() When I started using rpgmaker I looked up the size of individual tiles and sprites and drew within the confines of that image size. Assuming you even have or know of your preferred image editing program. Opening photoshop and using the default canvas size to draw on will probably cause you problems. For example, you would want an understanding of how the image should be formatted so when you open up your image program of choice you know what size to make your image and what size to make the grid for the different cells you’ll make. If it’s both- it’s a learning process you’re probably gonna want to split up into a couple different chunks. What do you need help with, specifically? Formatting a sprite so it fits when you put it in the engine, or the pixel art/drawing aspect or both?
